Computing: Provide some background on your company for our readers

christopher monticolombi: WeShape is a cloud-native, data, software engineering, and DevOps consultancy founded in 2019 by Jack Moore and myself. We set out with a mission to deliver on-demand expertise, at scale, to solve the toughest technical and organizational challenges to deliver ongoing, lasting value.

We focus on providing consultancy, technical implementation and training services, and in the last three years we have scaled from a team of two in 2019 to 41 in 2021, working on some of the most exciting projects within the UK and EMEA regions. . WeShape is also proud to host some of the UK’s leading tech communities, including London DevOps and London Tech Leaders.

CTG: What sets you apart from other technology companies?

CM: WeShape’s operating model is unique: our team is comprised of technical consultants and former industry tech recruiters, allowing us to identify customer pain points, build custom solutions, and mobilize teams quickly and at scale. We have achieved this by creating a gig economy of the best industry experts within the DevOps, software engineering, data and cloud markets.

Our business is vendor and technology agnostic, with experience across all major cloud platforms. That allows us to implement solutions that work in the best interest of our clients.

We often get involved because of our market domain expertise and the fact that we focus on results, while also ensuring that our solutions are IR35 compliant.

CTG: What company achievement in the last 12 months are you most proud of?

CM: One of our greatest achievements is the continued growth of WeShape, which has been completely organic and without external funding. We had 333% growth across the entire core team, 400% growth across our project consulting team and over 100% client growth (providing solutions in the UK and EMEA region). But we don’t just focus on profit, we have an amazing culture. As a group we want to have a positive impact as a business, so in 2021 we also signed the Tech Talent Charter, offset our carbon emissions and are currently awaiting B-Corp.

CTG: What are you working on this year?

CM: We have big growth plans for 2022 and are looking to expand our technical teams and in-house capabilities across the UK, Europe and the US!

In addition, we will launch the WeShape Tech Academy, which aims to support young people from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds and give them the opportunity to work in technology alongside the best talent in the industry.

We are also launching a product investment arm focused on SaaS-based solutions and a technology hub for associates to work from our London offices, where partners can collaborate with our internal and project teams. It’s going to be a very busy and exciting year for all of us here at WeShape!

CTG: Why are events like the DevOps Excellence Awards important to the IT industry?

CM: The DevOps Excellence Awards are a great opportunity to highlight some of the amazing work that companies, individuals, and organizations are doing in the marketplace. Most of the time, so much of the work and projects that are turned in go unnoticed, or we’re too busy to take time to reflect on our accomplishments, and it’s important that we celebrate success, near misses, and learning opportunities!

It’s also important to network and meet like-minded people and organizations, and celebrate those who have contributed to the DevOps community each year!

For smaller organizations, it’s a great achievement to be shortlisted for the DevOps Excellence Awards and to share it with your team, customers and partners who have helped you along the way – an opportunity to celebrate together!

The DevOps Excellence Awards will take place on March 23, 2022 at The Montcalm, Marble Arch. Finalists may click here to reserve a table.
