One user wrote: “It’s amazing to see your dad not only on a plane again but calm enough to sleep.”

Another added: “The respect I have for that man after all his tragedies. He still manages to fly. I know he couldn’t. Bless him.”

A third responded: “I love that your dad is comfortable enough now on a plane to sleep. Prayers answered!”

Travis was aboard a private Learjet plane 13 years ago headed for Los Angeles from Columbia, South Carolina, but failed to take off.

With a loss of pressure, the tires blew out when it took off. Upon aborting takeoff, the plane overshot the end of the runway and crashed through a fence before bursting into flames.

In addition to the two pilots, Travis’ assistant Chris Baker and security guard Charles “Che” Still were killed.

His best friend Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein survived, but died of an overdose a year later as he struggled to come to terms with the shock of the event.

Remembering the horror in 2019 in the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast Travis said: “When I jumped out the emergency exit when the plane blew up, I was in such a hurry to get out of the plane that I jumped right into the plane, which was full of fuel.

“My whole body lit up. I had jet fuel all over my body. I belched jet fuel for almost three months.

“When I jumped on the jets…I started running…I was taking my clothes off because that’s what my gut was telling me to do…but I didn’t know I was still in fire because it was soaked in jet fuel.

He continued: “My right foot almost didn’t make it. That was the thing that got soaked the most was my shoes and socks.

“I was running onto a road and I heard a guy yell, ‘Stop, drop and roll,’ and I heard it through all the chaos of sirens and everything.

“I stopped and fell and rolled, and the only thing that was still on fire was my feet. So they were on fire longer.”

The accident left him in hospital for 11 weeks, where he required 27 episodes of surgery and skin grafts.

He continued: “After my accident…I spent four months in a hospital receiving morphine every day.

“When I was in the hospital, I was on so many medications that I didn’t even know my two friends had passed away. I didn’t know the pilots had passed away. I didn’t remember anything.”
