A resurfaced clip from 2018 of Stacey Solomon questioning the role of the Royal Family has been making the rounds on social media amid fervent celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Stacey Solomon absent from tribute to Loose Women Jubilee

The Loose Women paid tribute to the Queen on Thursday to kick off the long weekend of Platinum Jubilee celebrations to mark her 70 years on the throne.

Loose Women Gloria Hunniford, Linda Robson, Jane Moore and Kaye Adams dressed with regal aplomb in the studio as they dressed as the Queen Through the Ages.

Towards the end of the bumper episode of the itv daytime show, Loose Women played a clip of several of the panelists paying a special tribute to the monarch.

Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter, Ruth Langsford and Frankie Bridge appeared on screen in pre-recorded clips to thank the Queen for her years of service.

Linda told the camera in a message to the monarch: “We all love you. We think you are an amazing woman. You are a style icon. You are a great mother and you are a great grandmother.”

Katie Piper added: “Your dedication and spirit are such an inspiration to me.”

Later in the lengthy montage, Brenda raised a cup and said, “Congratulations from one strong woman to another.”

But one panelist conspicuous by his absence from the fervent lineup was stacey solomonwhich has been open in her criticism of the Royals on the show in the past.

The Loose Women star’s searing attack on the nation’s “obsession” with the Royals has gone viral in recent years and has circulated on social media in recent days amid the Jubilee celebrations.

The 32-year-old sparked debate in 2018 when she appeared on an episode of Loose Women alongside panelists Christine Lampard, Linda Robson and Jane Moore.

In the clip, Solomon said: “I don’t understand why we are so obsessed with these humans who are exactly the same. It could be the four of us sitting there, I just don’t get it.”

After Jane says that she thinks the royals are “going like celebrities,” Solomon replies, “To me, that’s all they are.”

When Stacey asked her fellow panelists about their reasons for “loving” the Queen, Jane replied, “Duty, responsibility, figurehead,” while Linda said, “She’s always worked really hard, hasn’t she?”

“But I would work hard if the country paid for me to have like 12 houses and work really hard,” Stacey replied.

“They don’t pay for all the houses,” Jane said, “we contribute around £39m a year. It costs £300m a year to support the royal family.”

But I’m with you. After the Queen, I would have them all on bicycles and living in a row house. But I love the Queen, I think she’s fantastic.”

debating the Royal family luxurious accommodation, the old X Factor star added: “It’s really cold outside and people are homeless and these people have houses to spare and sometimes it gets a little frustrating because I don’t see the purpose of all that money for this whole family.”
