He said: ‘There are many reasons why I don’t like Zayn and there are many reasons why I will always, always be on his side.

‘If I had to go through what he went through, his growth and anything else. Do you know that your parents are very supportive of you?

My parents are so supportive to the point where it’s annoying sometimes and they don’t even care if I say it. And Zayn had a different upbringing in that regard.

Another echoed: ‘As a white man, Liam Payne shouldn’t have said a word about Zayn Malik’s parents’ upbringing, a POC man. As a woman of color, hearing him talk shit about parenting brown people disgusts me. How about you stop being an absentee dad and stop cheating on your fiancé?

A third argued: ‘It’s not right to bring up the fact that other people’s parents weren’t as understanding as ours. the only way liam payne is talked about is when he talks about the other members of 1D. getting a life is honestly embarrassing’.
