DI Ray star Parminder Nagra has revealed how George Clooney paid the bill for his 30th birthday after meeting him at a restaurant.

Leicester-born Parminder, 46, who shot to fame in Bend It Like Beckham 20 years ago, had previously become a Hollywood star when she appeared in ER.

Appearing on today’s episode of Lorraine, she recalled seeing the actor having drinks at the same restaurant while celebrating with friends.

He came over to chat with her and was “so lovely,” and at the end of the night, when she went to pay, she was told that Clooney had “handled” the bill.

The Oceans Twelve star is known for his generosity, giving 14 friends who helped him before he was famous $1 million in cash.

In November 2020, he confirmed a long-standing rumor that he gave 14 of his closest friends who supported him before he was famous $1 million in cash each.

Clooney revealed that he invited his friends, a collective known only as ‘The Boys’, to his home in 2013 and gave them each a suitcase containing the money.
