Big Brother’s Brian Dowling is expecting baby with husband Arthur

Previous Eldest brother Presenter and winner Brian Dowling has revealed that he is expecting his first child with husband Arthur Gourounlian. Many congratulations are in order!

Brian, who married her dancer husband in 2015announced the happy news on social media, sharing a charming clip.

In it, she surprises her husband by declaring, “We’re fucking pregnant!”, before showing the scan of the baby and the words, “Baby Dowling Gourounlian is coming soon.”

Brian commented on Instagram: “IT’S COMPLETELY FILLING OUR HEARTS @gourounlian to be able to reveal that we’re PREGNANT and due to our BEAUTIFUL bundle of joy later this year.

“We never really thought that this day would be a reality for us. We fully realize and understand how lucky and blessed we are to have this happen.

“For many of us, and especially people in our community, we have to fight harder and try harder for what others see as something that can be easily achieved.

“Arthur and I have been keeping the BIGGEST secret for the past few months, but it has put the BIGGEST SMILES in our HEARTS and on our FACES. We can’t wait to meet you, hug you and LOVE YOU for the rest of our lives. Baby Dowling Gourounlian is on the way folks.”

Arthur, who is a judge on the Irish version of dancing with the starspreviously opened up about her struggles to have a baby, revealing that they tried to adopt in the US before moving to Ireland during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

“Brian and I, when we moved back in, we really wanted to adopt in Ireland,” she told the irish sun at the beginning of this year. “But some doors were slammed in our faces…it’s very difficult for us. It felt very heavy.”

He added at the time: “Listen, maybe we should consider surrogacy and then see what we can do. We’re working, but it’s not that easy because, as you know, you can’t do surrogacy in the first place.” [in Ireland] you have to go somewhere else.

“So it’s been a really heavy rollercoaster ride for us. We’re trying and one day we’ll get there. To be honest, I’m just staying positive because I don’t want to give up, not yet, so it’s been a really rough ride for us.”

Brian won the famous second series of Eldest brother in 2001, and became the presenter of the show when it was revived on Channel 5 in 2011, before being replaced by Emma Willis.
